Re: [IGSROBIN] Geranium arboreum

Dear Robin:

I believe Geranium arboreum is on CITIES, and all collecting of seed,
except with permission and for research purposes, is forbidden. It is
endangered because wild pigs and cattle have devastated its habitat. I
have seen the ground rototilled by pigs around the base of the plants.
We need to get some botanical institution interested in growing it. It
suckers, and probably can be propagated from roots. The flora of poor
Hawaii is in such a mess. It is very melancholy to see the scale of
invasion there by foreign plants and animals.

Sorry for the gloomy news.
