Re: [IGSROBIN] Var. & Fancy-leaf Pelargoniums

Judith,

You might want to check with local garden centers and Targets, places that
have a plant department. Talk to the person who orders the plants and ask if
they can't get a shipment of pelargoniums that would include what you are
looking for. When you order by mail you're going to pay almost as much in
shipping as you do for the plant in many cases. But, if you can't find it
locally, then you import its fuzzy little green and white self right to your
doorstep.

Several mail order suggestions for you:

1. Call Logees Greenhouses, Ltd at 1-888-330-8038 and get their free spring
catalog. On page 66 they start listing pelargoniums. You might be interested
in the tricolored 'Skies of Italy' ($5.95), ivy leaf w/yellow mesh over the
leaves 'Crocodile' ($6.95), var. ivy 'Duke of Edinburgh' ($5.95), the misnamed
'Sunset Ivy' ($5.95) which looks to be 'L'Elegante'. This plant is great,
it's a var. but if you don't water it enough the outer edges of the leaves
which are normally white, turn strawberry pink. In the scented category,
there is 'Gooseberry Leaved' which is also known as 'Peach', 'Peacock',
'Prince Rupert Variegated'.

Faye Brawner will have huge selection. Get her catalog for $3 by writing to
her at Rt 4 Box 525A, Buckhannon, WV 26201.

Jerry Stewart will have a large selection of fancy leaf & variegated. Get his
availability list by writing to him at New Leaf Nurseries, 2456 Foothill
Drive, Vista, CA 92084-5809. Telephone (760) 726-9269.

Good luck!

Cindi
