Hello to all the 'lurking' daylily people,
I'm Jan Clark, and I live in central Victoria, Australia. Our summers
are hot and dry and winters cold and frosty, with the very rare
snowfall. The soil is poor and garden beds have to be built up. I
responded to an add for a free daylily early last year. The company
claimed that they couldn't be killed, so I deliberately planted it in
the worst part of my garden. It's still alive and increasing, but not
doing as well as the other 40 cv's I've since bought. I mainly like
spiders and mini's. I also like the darker colours, reds, red/browns,
black. In our hot summer sun, these will probably do best where I have
planted them in the shade of the southern end of the house.
It's good to see that people have started talking here. I suggest you
all send your BIO's and questions, if you really want to get this list
going.
It's also good to see that the percentage of Australians is higher here
than on iris-talk. Hi Paul!
Cheers, Jan Clark
