Sorry, Sandra..Should have been more clear..I was referring to established
potted plants, not to seedlings, which do indeed require gradual exposure
to sun and wind.

Mature potted plants might also benefit from gradual exposure, but the
thought of shlepping all those pots in and out chills the blood (not to
mention the back). I only know that I have damaged (not fatally) hibiscus,
lantana, bouganvillea, gardenias by putting them in their "permanent"
summer position in full sun on their first day out. So everybody that I
think might be sensitive goes under a big locust tree for a few days at
first where they get only morning and dappled sun. Sort of a Halfway House,
if you will..
