If you go to the Plants By Mail FAQ you can read all the comments from previous
customers.
<http://pbfaq.dvol.com/michiganbulb.html> Most of it is pretty negative, but
interestingly, they do have a (very) few fans/supporters.
And how about their "SWEEPSTAKES"? As someone questioningly commented "another
Publishers Clearing House? Once you get on their list you can't get off." But
the comment I like best is the one from the guy who says ''I Won, I won the
Michigan Bulb Company Contest ... too bad that the prize I won can only be
collected if I'm DEAD! I won a $2,000 term life insurance policy."
And then, vtrebon writes: "Michigan Bulb Company is not really a horticultural
company. They are actually just a marketing company that happens to sell bulbs,
because the margins are good on the inferior products they buy on the cheap. If
there were higher margins on books, they would be the Michigan Book Company.
They are a complete embarrassment to all the legitimate mail order gardening
companies."
Anyway the comments and complaints go on, and on ...and on; a bit overwhelming.
There are so many, Joe has archived the older ones ... must be hundreds in all.
Oh yes, if you haven't been there yet, the PBM FAQ also includes comments on a
hundred or so other mail order companies (just go back to
<http://pbfaq.dvol.com/>). But, none come anywhere close to the number of
comments from unhappy MBC customers.

P.S. - I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I was born and raised in Michigan
(blush). On the other it wasn't in Grand Rapids (whew!).
