Has anyone had any experience with water filtration systems? Mom's orchids
have not been doing well for the past year (about 2000 plants in a
greenhouse) and she believes its the water. The water where she lives used
to be from a city well and was very hard and left a lot of white sediment.
She lets the water stand in buckets a few days to settle out and now she
says she's finding slimy brown crud in the buckets. She intends to carry
in rainwater - which I suppose is a temporary solution of sorts - but she's
89 and shrinks a little more every year, so I'm thinking she needs
something more elaborate than a rainbarrel.
