Yuccas are really easy if you DON'T overwater.  I basically left mine on the
patio for months at a time and didn't really water it.  It rained very little
and it was great.  Is it somewhere that it can get some drainage?  I think
drainage is very important.  If it's in
the ground it will probably be okay unless it's in a valley or something so it
constantly
sits in water.  I actually brought mine in and have it in a window.  Neglect
this plant and
it will thrive!
