How's the humidity around your rabbit's foot? It may need to be higher.
Also, some of the footed ferns (davallias and bullatas) have a period
during which they go almost-but not completely- dormant. If you can, put it
outside on a porch or under a tree over the summer.
I grow a large number of ferns in a 3-2-1 mix. (3 parts peat, 2 parts
vermiculite, 1 part perlite). Somer of my larger footed ferns
(phlebodium aureum and other "bear paws") are in long fibered sphagnum
