Hello Pauline, welcome to the list. I only grow 1 Christmas cactus
and 1 Easter cactus, so I guess the "married with 2 children" part is
all we have in common so far. :-) I would like to grow more varieties
but I'd like to get the hang of the ones I've got before I go out and get
more. Since you have so many and seem experienced with them I'd
like to ask you a question about them: When getting them ready to
bloom, do you think it's more important to keep them cool or to keep
them in the dark? Last fall my Christmas cactus bloomed, but there
were only about 8-10 blooms at the most (on a fairly good-sized plant,
10" tall x 18" wide). I usually keep it in our bedroom, where the window
is open year round and gets cold in the fall. Maybe I should feed the
cactus more when trying to bloom?
