Re: Unusual House Plants.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply, I consider unusual plants to be anything that
normal people wouldn't grow or even know of.. not your basic spider
plant or philidendron..
I love carnivorous plants, and have tried numerous times to grow a venus
fly trap, (I have one struggling right now) but can't seem to keep them
alive! The one I have now I can't even get to "bite" down on a fly no
matter how much I tickle it.. I hear that people actually raise these
plants and they actually grow but I have yet to see mine do anything but
die.. I'm hesitant to grow strange plants because of this (thats why
I'm looking for inexpensive specimins to "practice" on)
What can I do for my Venus? He stays moist, gets artificial light 24/7
(on shelf above kitchen sink) so far he is alive but not growing or
flourishing.. I think he is a herbavore because he has no passion for
bugs (but I saw him look twice at the dill sitting next to him when it
passed close by) <sorry, long day at work, we all get a bit silly>
Any advice or links appreciated..
Sue
