Does anyone know if there is really any difference between grow lights and
regular flourescent lights in terms of plant growth? Or how close the plant
has to be to the grow light for it to get enough light to allow
photosynthesis to take place? I have a huge rack of assorted plants in our
south picture window. During the summer, when a tall clump of river birch
outside cut most of the sunlight wayyy down, all my plants start dying, or
at least stop growing, despite 8 hours a day of supplemental grow light
from two 48 inch bulbs. During the winter, with gro lite and winter
sunlight, they flourish.
Also wondering if anyone has any tricks or tips on Norfolk pines. Just
bought one. LOVE it. Would like to buy two more, but last time I got them
they quickly faded and died. Instructions say water sparingly in winter.
Woman at the plant store said be sure to keep it well watered!!!
Experiences you can share? Thank you in advance.
