Does it have lovely wine colored leaves with light veins? If so it is
Ludisia discolor or Jewel Orchid. It is a terrestrial orchid so will grow
in soil although I add about half bark to be sure it gets good drainage.
Keep it moist.
If it is subjected to cool nights (about 60F) it will send up an 18" spike
from the cnter of the rosette with a lot of 1/2" yellow and white orchids on
it. Otherwise it is happy at room temperature.
