        I don't know what you have, but it's always a good idea to sterlize
outdoor soil, potting soil in open bags, or compost before using them on
indoor plants.  Fill a couple of large roaster pans with barely damp soil.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake at that temp for 45 minutes.  When the
soil is heated, reduce the temperature to 200 degrees. Uncover, stir, and
continue baking for an other hour or two.  Stir ocassionly.  Cool the soil
before using. Believe me, it won't smell anything like freshly baked bread
or homemade chocolate chip cookies, but it works.
