I had some dwarf sunflowers that I grew in the lab for color (no
experimentation). The variety was sunspot. The max height was supposed
to be 18 to 24 inches, I think, but I was able to bloom them at a height
of 8 inches. I had two in a small pot, and by the time they bloomed,
they touched the flourescent tubes they were under. I was truely
shocked. (they weren't however, very large) (bonsai effect, I suppose)
This is just so you know that even with less than perfect conditions,
you can make them grow.
