I have never had any luck with ferns until I moved to Florida. Which leads me
to believe they HAVE to ... simply have to...have very high humidity. And
they should not be allowed to dry out. And most ferns should have diffused
light of some amount.
Now that I live in Florida (where it's not ALWAYS humid this time of year) I
have dozens of common and exotic ferns both hanging and sitting in the covered
porches and here inside the house. None get direct sunlight; some get
diffused light, some get bright light from a skylight. All are thriving so
wonderfully!! I absolutely adore my ferns.
Good luck to you and remember, they cannot have too much humidity IMHO.
