Dear Bayta and Friends,
We do not use an automatic misting system because we want to MONITOR when we
mist. It done automatically by a timer, invariably they will come on at a
"too cool" period or when there are guests in the greenhouses.
We use a very fine 3 hole mister nozzle on the end of our hoses, and hand mist
at frequencies we determine. In warm weather, we often do it several times a
day. In really cold weather, we do none at all. Always on a rising
temperature with tepid water. Our hoses go into large plastic trash barrels
designed just for our needs. I believe most a 25 gallon size. There is a
small 1500 gallons per minute Little Giant or similar pump in the bottom and
it makes a very nice, easy to control, system instead of installing many hoses
up high and regulating many mist nozzles. In our propagating greenhouses, of
course we do us automatic systems to create the high humidity situations which
we want.
Good Luck!
