Just got my order from Logee's yesterday, finally! My "Incense"
Passiflora (which is ostensibly hardy outdoors in my zone! I'm not going
to test that, however, until I've managed to make more vines out of this
one once it gets big enough) and my Epiphyllum "Red" (orchid cactus)
came, but the Clivia and the Datura were out of stock. :( They sent me,
instead, a variegated Gardenia prostrata and a credit on my account.
Now, the real question: Can anyone tell me anything about Gardenia
prostrata? I can't find it in my references, only Gardenia
jasminoides. Normally, I avoid gardenias and camellias like the
plague. Picky, fussy plants that refuse to flower if you look at them
cross-eyed don't appeal to me. But since I'm more or less stuck with
this one (I hate to get rid of a perfectly good plant just because I
don't care much for the genus), I need good info on its culture.
TIA!
