Well, it's been about three weeks since the last check-in, and some of
the attractions have changed.
The gasteria is no longer a "Star Trek monster". The last blooms faded
and I cut the stalks to the base. I have buds on my mandevilla (yay!!)
and I trained the hoya to the hoop off of a peony stand.
The butterfly bush (which is still on the porch) is producing budheads
which should flower in a few weeks, provided I don't forget to water the
darn thing.
The cacti and Wave petunia are still going great guns. My new spider
plant is producing its first baby. The ficus bonsai I rescued from
someone's trash is recovering and the regular-size young rubber tree is
coming along nicely.
I've added a young palm (one of the cane palms, I think) and my bowl of
lobelia is growing nicely. I'm still waiting for my supermarket ginger
root to sprout.

Botanical Name of the Week: Rhipsalidopsis...say that 3 times fast!
They say couples start to look alike as they get older. I don't know
whether to feel sorry for my mom or happy for my dad...
