design suggestion?

Can anyone recommend a vertical plant, one- to two-feet tall, to put behind
some maranta on a west-facing (but somewhat obstructed) windowsill? Flowers
would be terrific, but I'd settle for interesting foliage. I want to toss
out the Dracaena marginata that's there (it reminds me of Sideshow Bob in
the Simpsons).
