Hello Jae and all here;
what type of light you use would depend on what you're trying to grow,
I have tried growing orchids under 500 Watt halogen fixtures and the
results were marginal at best. The halogen spectrum is very rich in
yellow,orange and red but deficient in blue so the growth might be very
elongated but blooming might be enhanced. It might be better to try
halogen as a supplemental light source to encourage blooms but I don't
think I would use it again as a sole source of illumination.
