reiger begonias

Is anyone out there familiar with Reiger (reiger?) begonias. I've
bought a few that I loved--they all seem to get mildew (?) after I've
had them a while.  I've tried to root pieces of stem, but have had no
luck.  Any suggestions for either of these things?  Judy Warner
