Boy, I wish I could. The light colored stuff on the soil could be fungus,
which I've got on a lot of my plants' soil but doesn't seem to hurt
anything. My lipstick plant occasionally loses leaves on a section of stem,
and then I just cut it back to right above that section and a new sprout
grows. It flowers sporadically and seems to do fine other than that. I let
mine dry out between waterings and give it as much light as it can take, but
no direct sunlight.
