Hi! I just joined the list, so an introduction is probably in order.
My name's Jim Gray. I'm both an indoor and outdoor gardener, with,
unfortunately, a fairly small yard to work with. So I tend to devote as
much time to my pet plants as to my yard plants.
I'm a general-interest houseplant person, not a collector. I have a
little bit of everything, although the succulents and cacti have been
predominating lately. Whether that's because I prefer them over the
others or whether it's because Lowe's got a HUGE cactus/succulent
shipment in (most in flower!), I can't tell yet. Although my mother is
just a little afraid of the currently flowering gasteria. She says it
looks like the villain in an alien movie. :)
I tend to straddle the garden/house line a bit. I have a purple wave
petunia in a hanging basket on the porch and I house-raised sprekelias
this spring (gorgeous flowers, but not very long-lasting).
Well, that's the intro. I look forward to contributing to this list in
time to come. Thanks!

Botanical name of the week: Kolkwitzia....doesn't tell me a thing about
the plant; I just like to say it! :)
