[INDOOR-GARDENING:430] Re: Bromeliads

I too am waiting for my specimen to flower. I bought it about 14 months
ago. It has since produced 5 plantlets. I was a coward only on removing
the first one. It had a nice set of roots all to itself and is doing well.
The second through fifth plantlets did not have any roots, but are doing
equally well. I thought the plantlets should be removed as soon as they
appeared viable (at least six months old), and in order to help the mother
plant spend energy on blooming, not on producing plantlets. I keep fresh
water in their cups, and water at the base on occasion.

I would be interested in how others have gotten their plants to flower.
