Which is best side of house 4 Bay window?

Hi guys & gals,

I'm looking to add a Bay Window somewhere in my house. If we put it on the
"front"
wall, it will be facing West. In the summer, nothing blocks the sun through
the single window already there from about 1pm-5pm Central time- talk about
direct sun, I got it!!! About 18ft from where it is, there are a set of
double windows (72in wide) that face South. These windows get constant sun
with a little morning shade from a Magnolia tree for a couple hours from
about 10am-11:30 or so. There is also another single window on the South
wall of the LR that's just beyond most of the Magnolias shadow.
What I want to do is put it on the West wall- but I'm wondering how
plants will take all that summer evening sun???
If I put it on the South wall, I intend to reuse the double windows that are
there now on the West wall where the single window is now. Suffice it to
say, my LR will be getting lots of sun regardless of where I put the Bay
window!
(Can you tell that I like a lot of windows???)

While I'm at it, my back porch: the house is "backwards L short side up"
shaped. The back porch fills in the L shape.... (Does anyone follow me so
far???) It has a Eastern exposed wall, and a Southern exposed wall. I've
got hooks for hanging baskets, and flower boxes to attach to outside rails
next Spring. It has a regular shingle roof, and I intend to screen it in.
Question: Can I grow bleeding hearts in a pot out there? And, what other
plants ( I'd like at least one "tree" to keep in a corner...) would do well
out there?

Thanks for listening while I ramble on, and on, and on, kinda like the
Energizer bunny...
Kathy
