green tomatoes

I come from Eastern Canada, and because of the short summers there, have
seen MANY green tomatoes.  They will ripen quickly if you set them along
a windowsill.  In the fall, anyone with a garden has a window full of
green tomatoes.  They don't put them in any kind of container or bag.

Another thing you can do with green tomatoes is make chow.  It is one of
my Dad's favorite preserves. I guess it's kind of like pickles.  If
anyone wants a recepie, I'll get it from my Mom.
