Hello Indoor Gardeners,
I'm new to the list and hope this hasn't been discussed before, but after
exploring the web and several books, I thought I'd write and ask for help.
I'm stumped!
I recently repotted, using potting soil, two small houseplant clippings: a
schefflia (sp?) and a philodendron.
Two weeks later, I've got a brown substance on the soil looking like
patches of mold, except they are brown. I haven't overwatered, and the air
is quite dry in this room, but these plants never seem to mind. On the
schefflia it looks like there are a few patches of brown also, and a few
leaves look like there are a bite taken out of them.
Is this scale?
The "infestation" is across the entire surface of the soil in both plants.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
