Hi,everyone,
When I subscribed to this list I stated I have orchids but hardly anyone
was interested. So, I was "lurking" all that time. But now - I can hardly
believe, somebody grows orchids too!
Let me then repeat what I have.
First, I can only keep warm growing ones. I can't provide cool room. So, I
have few laelias, and mostly cattleya hybrids. I also have 8 paphs, one
dendrobium. I keep 25 or so cattleyas outside all sping, summer and fall
and bring them in before frost. They have to suffer by the windows. Under
the lights, I have 40 phalenopsis, but there is no room for cattleyas.
All of those plants bloom very reliably, every year. Now, I have one
cattleya hybrid (with Horace) that has first two buds ever (I got it 10
years ago as a tiny, 2 inch plant at Franks Nursery) I'm so exited, I can't
wait to see it! It suppose to be exeptional quality flower. It should open
in a week.
I'm happy, that I can exchange the news with knoledgeable people.
