Snake Plant

Jake the Snake was a rescue from a back lot department store.  He has 2 
nice new growths which were growing pretty straight.  Yesterday, I found 
them bending back a little and kinda soft.  The soil was dry so I watered 
him, and also I had sprayed leaf shine on him the night before yesterday.  
Could the leaf shine of done it?  I ususally let him dry out before 
watering him.  

Also, I have him in the south window with no shading.  He's been there for 
about 2 months.  Is this okay?

I don't like to go by the manual alone because many say different things, 
the one I have says full sun.
