Re: Ultimate houseplant pest: my cat
Try this concoction: crush a clove of garlic, add a teaspoon of hot cayenne
powder or crush a jalapeno pepper, mix this with a quart of water, let it
sit for a couple days, strain, put in a spray bottle and spray the leaves
of your plants with it. The cats hate it -- if the garlic smell is too
strong for you, just use the jalapeno method.

P.S. This spray, with a couple of drops of dish soap in it is also a great
deterrent for mites, aphids, scale and assorted other creepy crawlies.
