Good Morning,

I am a new, but obsessed gardener.  (It all started with indoor plants.)   I
planted tulip and narcissus bulbs in my back yard about 10 days ago (I live
in Queens, NY), and discovered that squirrels dug up quite a few.   I am not
home during the day, so I do not get to see the damage right away.  Any
ideas on how to discourage such behavior without hurting the squirrels?

I have heard talk about sprinkling red pepper on the ground but never tried
it.
