Re: Bulbs and Squirrels

I use 2 chief methods to discourage squirrels:
1. plant bulbs under plastic mesh berry baskets
(only way I can have crocus).
2. spray bulbs with hot pepper spray (only works
for a short time).
With my hens and chicks, I had a cold frame built
so I can screen these wonderful critters OUT!!!!!
I often use hot pepper flakes in my trough
gardens, etc. to keep the squirrels at bay.
Note: I run a squirrels email list and am NOT
anti-squirrel--I just try to control what they do
to my garden since I do them the courtesy of
feeding them peanuts, sunflowers seeds and corn!
