Hi:

I've moved two of my email groups to egroups.com because of their
chatroom capacity.

After a great deal of thought, I am moving all my email groups to
egroups.com.  Egroups and Onelist are merging in the near future
anyway.  Moving them myself gives me a bit more control over the
process.

There is a very special reason I am moving them.  I want to gain
chatroom capacity which is automatically provided at egroups. 
Invitations will be sent each of you through the egroups server. 
Please respond asap so we can be ready for after the holidays.

I'd like to have a monthly chat with someone serving as the "expert of
the month".  Am thinking of having someone (Maybe Louise Parsons?)
focus on Penstemons one month, someone else on primulas, etc.  I'll
need help identifying the experts and encouraging them to agree to
serve as the chat's expert for that session.

Harry and Louise:  You're both still listowners for alpine-l, Right? 
Would you be willing to help recruit some monthly experts after we get
the chat sessions set up?

Here's an idea for the alpine-l list too.  Set up an alpine-chat list
at egroups.com so anyone interested in chats could sign up.  Then
groups from various time zones would be free to schedule their own
chat get together.  Would be a great way to give some "real time"
communication opportunities to the members.  Just a thought!

In the meantime, after you receive your invite to the new group,
please respond as directed in the invitation.  This will greatly
facilitate the move without losing too many I hope.
