minature rose

A question for anyone

I have a minature rose and it is in bloom at this time, it's very leggy
and I would like it to be more bushy with lots of branches.   I know
this is not the time to prune
could someone tell me when is the best time to do this.  and another
question,  do these have to be in full sun or maybe my problem is, mine
is in light shade with only late evening sun..........
