Yes, the austin roses are in the new bed. As a matter of fact, I lengthened
it more, and made it wider this weekend, and planted about 5 more rose
bushes. I also planted 4 roses called Mermaid along the back fence, and one
in the front yard along the front fence.
What I am enjoying now is being able to cut roses for a floral arrangement,
and still having lots of roses to leave on the bush for passers by's
pleasure. It still has not got cold enough here to put the roses in any
type of dormancy. They are all blooming like crazy. I'm not sure why you
couldn't get the chairs to load. I actually thing that my provider as to
slow of a server, and I think I need to complain about it. It comes up real
fast for me, here at home. But when I'm at work, or a friends house, I have
trouble getting all the pictures to load too. One thing I have found that
helps is to hold your shift key down, and hit the reload button. They will
generally all load the 2nd time around if you do that.
In my spare time, I'm working on a newer design for a web site, one day I
will get it finished. I'm just having trouble figuring out how to get some
parts of it to work.
I very seldom spray with fungicides. It is very dry here, and we don't have
the problems a lot of folks have with black spot, powdery mildew, etc. I've
never had black spot, but on occasion, powdery mildew will appear on a leaf
or two, and I will catch those leaves right a way and cut them off. I do a
preventive spray once per year, where I spray both the fungicide and the bug
stuff. Generally that is right after I've pruned them. I will spray the
roses and the soil around them. That seems to help keep everything under
control. The only thing I fertilize with is Fish Emulsion. Once in the
spring and once in the fall I will use epsom salts. I also do the same with
Alfalfa, twice per year, but not at the same week as the epsom slats.
Thanks for the compliments! :)
