Re: fungi


One other comment about blackspot--something I forgot to mention in 
my previous post: by the time you see leaves with blackspot lesions, 
the disease has been established for weeks. It just takes time for 
the signs to appear.

Water on leaves is necessary for the spores to germinate, say plant 
pathologists. But lesions can show up in the middle of a drought 
because they germinated a number of weeks before.
