Transplanting Question -Reply

David Austin claims roses LOVE to be moved:
it gives them a new home with (hopefully) lots
of new muck to feed on (as they are heavy
feeders). I would wait til after threat of real
cold, but while it is still cool. Basically dig
them up and move them! If they have no
leaves at the time, it could be hard to tell the
top from the bottom (if you didn't know). If
you need help with what to put in the whole,
how big, etc. write back and I'll be more
specific.

I will have to say I've never lost even a large
rose by moving it, but I don't "do" hybrid teas,
and the exception to losing any would be ones
that were unwell or superstressed to begin with.
If they are already really stressed, it may not
work, but I'm sure that's not true for all of
them.
