Anyone travelling to the midwest would be very smart to have a stop in Kansas
City Missouri to visit the rose garden at Loose Park. It is not a huge nursery
planting, but a lovely formal planting to strool through, with many labelled
species. And it is located very near the Coutry Club Plaza, an exceptionally
interesting shopping area from the 30's with good restaurants, stylish shops
and excellent hotels. Kansas City is one of America's great secrets - still
full of the enthusiasm and optimism of boom America, very contemporary,
sophisticated,  and well worth a visit in its own right.
