Why not contact the American Rose Society? The
climate at their headquarters in Shreveport, LA. is close enough to Houston to
provide a good comparison. However, any rose that likes heat (there are many)
and tolerates humidity (not so many!) will do. The advice concerning single vs.
double flowers in the humidity is a good guide line for selecting OGRs. I would
add Vintage Gardens, in Sebastapol, CA. as another good source. If you haven't
joined the ARS yet, do so. Many reputable growers advertise in the monthly
journal. Check out their web page at www.ars.org
