I think I may have ''slipped'' a noodle here. All the sudden I'm
just all confused about pruning them once-blooming roses. Most books
say prune nothing after Summer. This will be my first year for these
(2 dozen or so) to bloom. Last Spring they were just them tiny
sticks, they grew, I trimmed the tops and now they are average 3 feet
tall.
I'm concerned they will grow long and leggy if I don't prune again.
But, I also read that they bloom on last years wood. Wouldn't the 3
feet of growth (from twigs) I had this last Summer grow another 3+
feet this year too, then bloom off that ?
Please set me straight...
Sincerely,
~Carleen~
