Waking the dead.

Since the rose list is hardly off to a running start, and I've anticipated
one for so long, I'll go ahead and do a (mercifully) short bio to hopefully
get things going.

I'm 45 yo and have been involved with Roses since my Grandmother allowed me
to help her with her hundreds of bushes in Virginia when I was a child. I
moved to Western New York 5 years ago from New Orleans, leaving behind well
over a hundred Hybrid Teas. Now all I have is Old Garden Roses, Austin's
English Roses and species varieties. I hope to eventually have a good
collection of species and related hybrids. Hardiness is a major issue for
me. I have 6.5 acres, which hopefully will be enough for some time to come.
I toy around with hybridizing Rugosas and Polyanthas.

Additional interests include Orchids (tropical and temperate terrestrials),
Iris, Daylilies (I "inherited" a daylily farm when I bought this place) and
Alpines. Not to mention water gardening (I have a half acre natural pond)
and vegetables. Frankly, the list could go on forever.
