Had to share information on this great stuff.
My Apothecary Rose (first year with him) was 1/3 covered (almost
overnight) with powdery mildew. That night I used the home-made tonic
that I have seen on this and the Organic Gardening list. Sprayed it
on till it dripped, and by the next day, hardly any mildew left. My
found "Sophie" rose also had some mildew spots and it removed it ALL.
It made the roses look so nice I sprayed them all. Some of the black
spotted roses did improve. Have hit Apothecary and "Sophie" one more
time, and will continue to use this stuff. Have tried commercial
stuff
and found it would burn the edges. (PS- I had also just fertilized
again with the "stinky liquid fish stuff".)
Tonic is:
1 gallon of water
1 Tablespoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon of (lemon) liquid dishsoap
