Re: Alfalfa pellets

Oh geez, yes, I do it routinely.  But only do it twice during the growing
season.  And don't do it too late in "your" growing season.  It may
stimulate new growth that can't harden enough to make it through the
winter, thereby weakening the plant.

Take a garbage can.  Fill it halfway with alfalfa cubes (the pellets are
too expensive).  Add a half carton of Epsom Salts.  Fill the rest of the
garbage can with water.  Let ferment for a few days. Scoop about a pint
around each rose bush.

That's it.

And it stinks something awful. 

BUT.....my rose bushes are the best around here.
