That is a special rose. How wonderful to have a rose in rememberance
of your mother, especially one propagated from her favorite.
My young son-in-law's mother just passed away last Sunday from a long
history of cancer. I plan to buy him a rose (He and my daughter are
moving today, 4 hours away) perhaps Red Cascade (his favorite rose
color) a patio rose in a pot, that later can set in the home of their
choice and become a hedge. In rememberance of his beloved momma.
Fragrant Cloud must be wonderful. Heirloom Old Garden Roses (St.Paul
Oregon) offers this one (of just a few hybrid teas that they offer)
on own-root because of it's delicious fragrant.
I also have a special rose (propagated from a cutting) from my great
grandmother's grave. (She came from Germany and died in 1909. The
white, once bloom, fragrant beauty is we believe, Mme. Plantier.
Sincerely,
