There's another product called Ro-Pel that's also supposed to impart a very
bitter taste to bulbs and foliage--I think it's supposed to be fine for
flowers, too, and won't affect the plant in any way except to make it taste
awful. The cautionary note is that it will make it taste awful to humans as
well as rodents (for which it's designed), so it shouldn't be used on anything
you yourself would like to eat.
