Hi, all.
I'm growing Veilchenblau. It is turning out to be a very satisfactory
climber. The canes are strong and easy to train on a trellis. The color is
wonderful. The surprise for me was a nice crop of hips, big clusters of
small red ones.

It has filled in quite a bit since then and now has canes to the top of the
trellis. We have short seasons up here, so growth in a warmer climate may
be quicker. In another month I'll know for sure how it made it through a
more normal (read colder) winter.
