Me too. Had hybrid teas and hated fussing
over them, my aunt got me turned on to old
and English roses. Had some at my old
home, along with a hedge of rugosas.
Now with my new garden I have 62 roses.
Most are 2-3 months new. All own-root.
As I live close to Heirloom Old Garden Roses,
and love their roses and gardens, I shop and
visit at least yearly. They have a wonderful
catalog. If you don't have it, I could send you
the phone number.

Yummy, what might you have ?

It's like Christmas waiting for the blooms.

I sure have "met" alot of rose gardeners
in Illinois. My first rose cutting trade was
with a gal in Springfield.

How do I answer that !! I have gardened
about 10 years and became serious about
old roses about 5 years ago. Little experience
with them, love to research and ask questions.
Know a little / know nothing kind of thing.

Love too... I'm one of those pest too.
Anything roses works for me. Drive my non-
rose friends crazy. I always jump with both
feet.

Ditto that one for me...

I was "planning" on JUST roses in this
garden, but with so much bare ground and
very generous gardeners, I'm on plan B with
this garden. (whatever I can get, till I toss
it or keep it.)
I'm still waiting for Heirloom to get more of
Comte de Chambord, a Portland rose. I was
talking on a 'rose' chat-line group in Austrailia,
where they said the Portland roses do
wonderful there. I've heard some say they
don't do very well here.
Anyone have an opinion on that one ?
