Hello,
There is someone out there after all! Maybe everyone is out admiring
their roses? Mine are just starting to show color and with the rain and
cold weather I do not expect much bloom very soon. I do have one orange
and yellow HT that is a riot of color just now as it is in full bloom
but it is the only one of the regular size that is blooming.
My miniatures are another story, they have been blooming their hearts
out for about three weeks now. I will have to dash out between rain
showers and deadhead them very fast because the mosquitos are in full
cry and appear to be bigger than usual. I have been using vitamin B
complex to try to convince them I do not have the proper seasoning to
taste good to them. It helps.
My miniatures will be moved to my new home this fall and I hope they
will hardly know they have been disturbed as I will have everything
ready for them and take only a few at a time so they are not out of the
ground more than a few hours. I will be very selective about which of
the large plants I will move because I will not have much room and I
think I will want to be sure I can have color, scent and disease
resistance in the ones I do have.
I do not have anything else to report at this time but hope someone else
will be sharing stories about their roses with us as they bloom. Oh! I
have one more thing to share. I sent some film to Seatle Filmworks to
be developed and I received prints, a disk and the images on the
internet along with a program to open the images and albums in which to
store them on my computer. I was able to send the ID number of the
order to a person in New Zeland and they were able to download the
photos and view them there. I have not yet received the prints and disk
as it takes about 3 to 4 days for them to get here. The photos were
all of my iris and peonies so I do not think anyone would be interested
in seeing them. When the roses bloom I will no doubt get some photos of
them and will try to get some SFW photos so I can make them available to
you if you would like to see them. I know I cannot send photos on the
list but with the ID information anyone who chooses can view them from
the SFW bulletin board.
Enjoy those flowers.
