Bone Meal made a believer out of me.
I had several dozen new small own-root
roses that came in 3x3x6 inch pots, that
could not be planted right away.
I put them in gallon pots filled with great
potting soil and added several Tablespoons
of bonemeal just below the roots. They
remained there for three weeks.
When I went to transplant them I was
amazed to find lots of new, long, white roots
in the bone meal area. I had missed a few
and they did not have such roots.
Now I add 1/2-1 cup of bone meal to each
new rose hole.
