Re: Welcome to the world of Roses. -Reply

I wish I could send you some of our rain.
Wettest May on record EVER. Pacific
Northwest. I literally have roses rotting on the
stem. They turn brown and sort of mummify
themselves, won't open and fall/drop off. Its
not very charming to behold, believe me.
<sigh> I'm trying to take it in stride -- there's
always next year! Live with what I can't
change.

Howdy, Joanie and all.

It seams that the rose list business has sure
picked up. Good.

Back in the mid 70's I had quite a few roses, but
business and other things caused me to get out
of
roses and gardening. I retired a year ago last
March and have gotten back to gardening
again.

I have 12 mini roses, one shrub (Sea Foam),
three
polyanthas' (The Fairy, Margo Koster and
China
Doll), 15 Floribundas' in one bed (8 Europena,
4
Sunsprite and 3 Iceberg) and four climbing (
Don
Juan, Joseph's Coat, Lace Cascade and Golden
Showers.

They have all been in full bloom since about
the
middle of March. I had a lot of trouble with
Mildew on the Floribundas', but that seams to
be
under control now. We have had no rain since
the
second week in March (1.5") so things are very
dry
here. Today it is 94 and the humidity is 91%.
Sure makes a fat boy puddle.

That's about all for me. I would like to thank
all of you who welcomed me to the list.

Hope you all have a good day and God bless.

Richard Kramer
